One minute I’m chilling, the next I’ve listened to “Video Killed the Radio Star” twelve times in a row and I’m planning a themed blog post around it. Neurospicy life, baby.
Welcome to the current state of my brain — a sparkly, chaotic timeline of hyperfixations that hit me out of nowhere and hold me hostage (with love). Let’s break it down, shall we?
🎶 “Video Killed the Radio Star” – The Buggles
- Started: Early July
- Current status: Still on repeat. Still giving me goosebumps.
- Why?: My brother played a song that sampled it, and my brain went, oh hello, you again.
- How it’s going: I’m not even sorry. I get ASMR from it. I feel seen by this song. I might make it my wedding entrance track. (Kidding. Maybe.)
👱♀️ Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse
- Reignited: While absolutely not watching that Barbie movie
- Symptoms: Binge-watching the old episodes, quoting Raquelle, possibly planning a Dreamhouse-themed day after my hair appointment
- Notes: If Barbie isn’t dramatic and plastic, I’m not interested.
🦊 Basil Brush (Forever Fixation)
- Since: Age 10
- Level: Permanent. This one’s not going anywhere.
- Recent Activity: Reminiscing about that time he reviewed Flip Reverse It on TOTP Saturday
- Quote of the week: Boom. Boom.
- Does this count as a hyperfixation if it never left? Asking for a friend.
🧱 Wallace & Gromit (and Other Comfort Fixations)
- Triggered By: Recent film + general craving for soft, comforting British chaos
- Symptoms: Watching clips, googling merch, wondering if Gromit is secretly autistic
- Comment: Gromit is the blueprint. That brow arch? That sigh? Mood.
🦔 Sonic, Garfield & Mario (Movie-Induced Madness)
- Timeline: Over the past few years
- Details: Each time a movie drops, my brain goes BACK TO HYPERFIXATION MODE.
- Side Effects: Random fact spouting, themed playlists, mild eBay scrolling
- Why it matters: Nostalgia is my emotional support blanket.
🎧 Daisy’s Corner
Daisy says: “Asten’s over here saying she’s not watching that Barbie film but she’s got pink glitter on her blog and Raquelle on repeat. Let’s not lie to ourselves.
Also — why is no one talking about that 2003 Garfield plush with sunglasses? Icon.”
🌀 And Next?
Who knows. Could be Capri-Sun. Could be Byker Grove. Could be that one nostalgic ad I forgot existed until 2am.
That’s the joy of hyperfixation life — intense, beautiful, occasionally ridiculous, and always so me.
If you’ve made it this far: what’s your current obsession? Drop it in the comments. Let’s bond through brain chaos. 💖
