Myron Is Turning Me Into a Geek (And Honestly? I Kinda Love It)

I used to be safe. Protected. Free from the clutches of superheroes, comic book lore, and grown adults arguing about which Spider-Man was best.

And then… I met Myron.

Well — re-met. Fell back in love. And somewhere between quoting The Inbetweeners and planning our future, I realised something had shifted.

This man has turned me into a geek. And it’s happening faster than a speeding bullet.

Symptoms of Geekification Include:

  • Watching Superman more than once and enjoying it both times (?!?)
  • Willingly agreeing to see Fantastic Four
  • Genuinely looking forward to visiting the local geek shop
  • Getting emotionally invested in superhero origin stories
  • Catching yourself saying things like:
“Yeah but the Christopher Reeve ones had heart.”

Look, I still love my nostalgic faves. I’ll always be a JLS stan, and I’m not giving up my stimmy bops or Barbie Dreamhouse. But now? There’s room in my world for capes, powers, and the occasional explosion (if the plot’s decent).

Love really does change you. Sometimes in big ways. Sometimes in small, hilarious ones — like suddenly knowing the difference between Marvel and DC.

A Conversation We Actually Had:

Me: “So is Deadpool technically an X-Man or… what?”
Myron: (drops everything he’s holding) “Okay. Sit down. We need to talk.”

Would I have chosen this path alone? Probably not.
Am I enjoying the ride anyway? Absolutely.

Besides, if you can’t nerd out with your soulmate, what’s the point?

Bonus Commentary from Daisy (because of course):

“She’s gone full geek. There’s no saving her now. I give it three months before she’s arguing about the Snyder cut in a Reddit thread.”

TL;DR:

Myron’s turning me into a geek.
I’m resisting slightly.
But mostly, I’m just enjoying the chaos 💥
